The Short Story And Now
Everyone has a story. In fact, it’s one of the most important aspects of any brand or business.
I’m no different. I’ve been working online for more than a decade. I’m now growing my 3rd business and have other assets in other businesses.
I help entrepreneurs, consultants, coaches, business owners, and others learn how to grow their business and scale.
Over the years, I’ve worked with some of the biggest brands in the world, including Adobe, Skrivanek, Nike, and over 500 more.
I founded Teaching Online Business in 2017 because my greatest passion is helping others. My goals are to help you achieve your goals.
Entrepreneur Mindset
When I was 7 years old, I wanted to make money. One of my earliest memories was creating a newspaper for my local community. I didn’t have a printer or copier, I wrote each page multiple times, but I remember selling them for 25 cents a piece.
When I was 10, I was cutting grass during the summer, raking leaves in the fall and shoveling snow in the winter. I didn’t know it at the time, but I had the entrepreneur mindset.
I never realized it at the time, but I had the work ethic and drive all successful entrepreneurs have. However, it was 15 years later before I had my big breakthrough.
My Struggles
Sure, I’ve been very successful over my career, but that wasn’t always the case. I married when I was 18 and the next year in 2005, our son Tyler was born.
I was working at a correctional facility in Arizona at the time. The cost of living in Arizona was expensive. I worked a lot at the time, usually 60 hours a week. I was working at another facility to help out. After a 16 hour day, I was scheduled to leave. I left. The next day I was fired.
Come to find out “politics” played a big role. Either way, it was all down hill from there. I lost my home, lost my car, lost everything. I felt like I was living someone elses life, but it was mine.
I’d spend the next few years homeless and struggling. Not by choice, but by fate.
Life Was Tough
You learn a lot about yourself when you have nothing. I didn’t even own the clothes I was wearing, I really had nothing. Thanks to a complete stranger that saw something special in me, I was able to get back on my feet.
The first promise I made for myself was to never let that happen again. No matter what, I’d work 3 jobs at once just to make sure and that’s exactly what I did.
I was able to get a studio apartment and bought a computer. I did a lot of research when I could find time. I began working on writing gigs and had my first taste of SEO.
Although I was learning to make money online, it wasn’t much. I was doing surveys, click ads, pennies on the dollars and something I would never recommend. However, at the time, it was grocery money and I had to do what I had to do.
My Breakthrough
I met a few people through writing and began making money for articles and SEO. I spent a few years doing this. While I was making more money than ever, it still wasn’t enough to quit my 9-5 job.
My first big success was a tattoo and dream website I built on Hubpages. My content has been viewed by nearly 16 million people. I made a little over $30K.
It wasn’t until 2012 I had my big breakthrough, founding digital marketing agency Hale Associations. We offered SEO and Online Marketing services. From 2012-2017, we were able to generate over 30 million dollars in new revenue.
Teaching You Through The Success And Mistakes
Over the next 5 years, I built several businesses and focused it on affiliate marketing. Today, I have over 20 steady income streams thanks to my online businesses.
The journey has been wild at times, humbling at others. I’m blessed. I’m able to work from home, my wife doesn’t have to work, I don’t have to miss ball games and school acitivities.
In 2017, I built Teaching Online Business with one goal in mind, to help others start and grow their business. To do this, I’ve built several online courses to accelerate your learning and help give you the knowledge you need to be successful.
